You could say the opening of this year’s America’s Got Talent was set to be an occasion to remember, and 14-year-old Lai Noelle made sure of it with an audition so jaw-dropping she was handed one of the show’s first Golden Buzzers of the season on the spot.
In a clip put out early called “Lai Noelle Kicks Off AGT’s FIRST-EVER 3 Golden Buzzer Night!”, you can see the young singer put on a display that left the judges and everyone in the audience at a loss for words.

For her introduction on AGT 2026, there was something very endearing about Lai Noelle. With her soft-spoken ways and unassuming look, she came across as just another 14-year-old making her way onto such a big stage. Her innocence was captivating even before she opened her mouth to sing.
Then she started to perform and the whole dynamic shifted.
The contrast between how she talks and how she sings didn’t go unnoticed by fans online. “Singing voice and speaking voice — totally unbelievable,” wrote one. Another couldn’t believe it: “I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT VOICE TO COME OUT!”

What a mature tone! She has incredible technique, a rich, deep sound, and beautiful vibrato. I especially love how effortlessly she transitions between her head voice and chest voice. Everything feels so natural and seamless. While technique can certainly be taught and refined, every once in a while you come across someone with a truly God-given gift, and she is one of those rare singers.

The fact she’s 14 years old with a voice like that is absolutely unbelievable! Not only did she absolutely nail that song, but the way she interpreted it, making it her own made this even better, also the fact she has this sweet personality makes it even more surprising. Simon definitely made the right call here and I already think she could be one to look out for this season!
