I watched you. You were at the World Cup yesterday. Yes, yes, I had a good time. Look at you. This is you and Shakira. It is. Player of the Match, Torres. Very excited.
That was my first actual live World Cup final. I think I’ve been to two other games, but the experience attached to the World Cup finals was unreal. It being here in New York in general was crazy. It was nuts.
Passion for the World Cup
I never realized the magnitude of it until actually being invested into it like I was this year. You’re so passionate. And the four years ago when I was. But it’s like the fanfare. You know, the scale of the game, the size.
I’m really happy that we’re now gravitating toward the way we are in the States, man. Yeah, it was really fun. I loved it. It was so fun to watch.
Attending Fanatics Fest
A couple of days ago you were at Fanatics Fest. Yes. And that’s this giant thing that everyone gets together, all these sports legends. To celebrate sports legends. That’s why I was there. As a four-time celebrity MVP.
You’re celebrating athletes. Well, they’re celebrating us, us as athletes. I’m not Kevin Hart when I go to Fanatics Fest. I’m Kevin Hart the athlete.
Among Sports Legends
A lot of people were excited to see me just because of everything that I’m doing. Excited or confused? No, they’re excited. I mean, I’m there amongst my peers. It’s nothing but legends.
There was so many legends. Look at this. There’s Tom Brady, there’s Messi, there’s Djokovic. And then there’s you there. You have nothing in common with any of these legends.
Kevin Hart Defends Himself
Well, I beg to differ. I mean, we’ve all experienced success at the highest level in the game. Putting us all to a specific game is not fair to any of us. Me and Tom were actually talking, man.
Does he let you call him Tom? No, I call him TB. I call him Brady. But you do know I played quarterback for quite some time for my church league.
Church League Football Story
That’s why you were invited to Fanatics Fest? I mean, I am a all-time leading passer, leading rusher. How many people played in your league? In my church league? Six of us.
It’s a great league. It was ushers, deacons. A couple of pastors.
Picking Up Golf
But no, you are picking up golfing. Yeah. And here you are practicing golfing off of a boat. Which is very cool and very you. Look at that backswing.
What are you practicing for? First of all, I want to make this very clear. I am hitting biodegradable balls. They need to understand that. I made sure of that.
Preparing for Golf Success
No, man, I wanted to make sure that I didn’t miss any golf time. So on vacation, I had a nice little setup so that I could work on my swing, which is getting very good. At this point, it’s starting to get surgical.
I am preparing for my next wave of success and it will be in golf. You heard it here first. Kevin Hart is taking the golf world by storm. I think next year is going to be my year of tournaments.

Here’s you playing with LeBron James. Now, Jimmy, you know I don’t do cursing or anything like that. But I will say [bleep] him. He’s a cheater. He’s a dishonest golfer.
We play all the time. Like 18. We go 18. You didn’t discuss where do you think you’re going to be living next year? No, because I could give two [bleep] about that, Jimmy.
New Movie “72 Hours”
Listen, we golf on Thursdays, Fridays. Kevin, you have a new film, 72 Hours. It is super funny. In the movie, you end up going to a bachelor party after being accidentally added to a group text.
This is very true. Very true. And it’s a great cast. Very, very good cast. Very funny people in this film.
Inspired by Real Life
In real life, have you ever texted the wrong person? It happens all the time. That’s where the idea came from. You know, when you accidentally find yourself in a group chat.
Sometimes you’re having a good time, so you just feed into the group chat. In this case, it turned left and I was like, alright, look, they’re going far. These guys are having a bachelor party.
Movie Plot
Let me let them know that I’m not who they think I am. But at the same time, because I’ve been playing with them so long, I’m gonna give a nice gesture. I’m trying to save my job while latching on to this dynamic of these younger kids.
It ends up going haywire and everything that you think can happen happens plus more. It’s a hard R. We got a hard R here because I believe comedy needs it right now.
Current Drinking Habits
Can you hang like you used to, Kevin Hart? No, no, no, no, actually, I do not. I took a shot the other day. Fell asleep immediately after.
I’m at that point where I like to drink, but I can’t do it the way I used to. Your face changes. My feet are swollen, which is getting weird.
Wrapping Up the Interview
A lot of peeing in places I shouldn’t do. That happens. I am for sure a very, very active bathroom goer when I’m drunk. Casual. Totally. That’s what it is.
I used to start pregaming at 11:00. Now I’m in REM sleep at 11:00. 7:45 you’re throwing pillows off the bed.
