A sluggish “Sunday Night Football” turned out to be one of the more exciting games of the season in the second half when the Broncos stormed back to erase a 16-poitn deficit against the Rams.
After both teams traded touchdowns in the fourth quarter, one being a pick-six of Matthew Stafford, the Broncos had the chance to go down the field and either tie or take the lead.
It looked for a moment as though the Rams had taken away that opportunity from the Broncos entirely, before a defensive pass interference call that ruffled plenty of feathers along the Rams’ sideline.

Had the flag not been thrown, the Rams’ cornerback Josh Wallace would have had a game-sealing interception. Instead, the Broncos got a fresh set of downs and were able to score the would-be game-winning touchdown.
The Rams fall to 1-2 on the season.

What people don’t understand is when you’re running and focused and you get a little push from behind, that changes your momentum. And the ram did a little push from behind before the receiver reached back and did a grab. All initiated by defender. It’s a good call

Im a huge broncos fan. I always look for everyone’s fan bases to be honest. That was not a PI. If it was it was on Bryant. But to be fair it goes both ways. If they call pushing off penalties against a receiver and it negates the catch the same call could be made for a DB making an interception. Call should have been illegal contact not DPI.

I feel like the defender pushed the receiver, receiver held on as he was trying to regain his balance, and the defender gave him a slight push again to create separation to intercept it.

If it’s not pass interference, it was holding. He was throwing hands all over him and definitely altered the movement of the receiver. This was undoubtedly a penalty. No clue why there is controversy, this was very obvious.

First of all it was not a throw away nix was trying to squeeze the pass in to 13 on the sideline. Second The defender had a hold of 13’s Jersey coming out of the break which would have been an automatic first down for defensive holding which led to in my opinion a ticky tack call, but the defender CLEARLY pushed the receiver to the ground as the ball arrived and then was CLEARLY pulled down. It could have been called an ultra rare double PI, it could have gone uncalled. But to all the people saying he didn’t commit PI check your vision or check Your NFL rule book he did.

I mean, there was clearly both defensive holding and illegal contact. I’d feel bad if Denver didn’t routinely have calls for exactly that go against them most weeks.
