Nelson Cade III Rocks on Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Pride and Joy” – The Voice Blind Auditions 2020

Nelson Cade III The Voice

The Voice season 18 kicks off on Monday Feb 24 and here’s a preview of a 4 chair Blind Audition. Actually, blues singer Nelson Cade III WOULD have received a 4 chair turn if a certain someone hadn’t blocked the newbie coach.

When Nelson launches into “Pride and Joy” by Stevie Ray Vaughan while accompanying himself on guitar, the coaches hit their buttons. But John Legend is quick to block new coach Nick Jonas while Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton look on, amused.

Blake compliments Nelson’s guitar playing. “That was such an amazing guitar part,” he says. Blake sees Nelson as an artist that could fit into many genres. “You’re gonna have a hell of a run on this thing. I would be proud to be your coach.”

Viewer react to Nelson Cade III The Voice performance

Karen Wilson Scheuermann He was a joy to listen to! Kelly’s hair looks terrific. Looking forward to this season

Lisa Vincent Did John just say Stevie Ray Vaughan is a very good friend and sang at his wedding? SRV passed away 30 years ago! Not cool, John.

Lloyd Peter Estomata He’s good but not really block-worthy. I hope he goes far in the competition tho. I think he’ll pick John, but Blake is a good choice in order to stand out.
