Madison VanDenburg with celebrity duet partners Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo tonght
She’s actually a very down to earth, humble & sweet teenager. You don’t have to like her singing but if you don’t personally know her or any of them you shouldn’t judge. She’s really not trying to be someone she’s not. If you knew her you would think she’s a sweetheart & not at all a show off
Madison VanDenburg and Pat Benatar vs Neil Giraldo SING We Belong by Pat Benatar during the Top 20 Duet round on American Idol in front of Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
Pat and Neil have been together for over 40 years. The two found out they were pregnant while making the song. It took them 3 years. “Madison is a great singer. She just has confidence about herself,” says Pat. “She’s a real singer.” Neil says, “I think she could win.” But Madison “is a little nervous.” Nice harmonies. But really, Madison and Kate should have swapped songs. The former could have handled the big vocals. Kate could have shone on the tender melody. But still! Madison’s confidence and strong high harmonies are carrying the song. Impressive. “You literally go toe to toe with her,” says Luke. Lionel is impressed with her cool, “We never could have done what you have done…you took it to the next level.” Katie says, “You look flawless…your voice is a Ferrari. You should never be afraid to show off.”

Viewer react to Madison VanDenburg and Pat Benatar vs Neil Giraldo performance
Angelica N Terrance Roberts This performance was OK at best. She has and AMAZING voice, but the song did her no justice. Just a poor song choice.
Kyle Sirowy She’s fantastic but let her be her own artist. Stop calling her Kelly. The comparisons will only pull her down.
Veronica Painter Garcia But we already have a Kelly Clarkson! !!!! We don’t need another Kelly Clarkson American Idol when there are others that are unique
