Great performance, but maybe the wrong song. He has an amazing James Arthur vibe to him, though! He should try one of James' songs next time.

I think his dad not showing up, made him try a little too hard. That plus the nerves, didn't help. I still like him though.

That boy is only 18 years old and he needs his father to be supportive. I hope his dad watches this and is ashamed he wasn't there for him.

It’s funny how he said a dads approval is important bc I feel the same way yet to get it tho
Damn it! Why did he sing that? The 1975 song was his best! He should've picked a song that made him sound like that. The last part was hard to watch.

I personally like him. His original song was good but this week’s song was so so. He couldn’t get to one republic’s high notes. I hope they give him another chance.

I have a feeling he might actually go through still. Something about his dad coming to his performance and him crying and seeing him in the audience I have a feeling American Idol is going to run with that story of the acceptance of a father to a son. Don't rule him out just yet

That was pretty disastrous. He was so much better in his last performance.I have a feeling though that the judges are gonna let him go through to the next round.
