Courtney Hadwin AGT Finale – The 14-year-old singer stunned audiences everywhere in the first round of when she belted out Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle" during her audition. This shy 14 year old singer transforms into a female version of Joe Cocker when she hits the stage
In her video package, Courtney explains that all her musical idols are from Los Angeles. A James Brown record changed her life at age 11. She performs Ike and Tina Turner’s classic “River Deep Mountain High.” She starts out quietly before breaking out her nutty maniac routine. Sorry. I just can’t wrap my head around her caterwauling, spazzy performances. The yelling, the shouting. She has no control or finesse. But I suppose one person’s feature is another person’s bug. Howie says, “You are amazing!” She’s his Golden Buzzer. “We are watching a superstar in the making.” Mel thinks she “killed it” this week. “Brilliant, original.” Heidi mentions that teens have been winning America’s Got Talent. Yes, and I think it’s time to change it up. Simon thinks she’s teach a new generation all about rock n roll. When she’s not singing, Courtney is like a scared little rabbit up there on stage.
Courtney is Howie’s golden buzzer. He’s very very excited. In her video, we see her Youtube fans reacting to her James Brown performance. Tonight she sings “Born to Be Wild.” Sorry. Not a fan NOT A FAN. She screeches, screams and ugly-faces her way through the song with absolutely NO finesse. Ever see John Belushi’s parody of Joe Cocker? It’s kind of like that.If she were an adult, she would not have made it past her audition. Her appeal is all about how a shy, mild mannered 14 year old transforms on stage. “You were born to be wild,” says Howie. He predicts that she will win. Mel calls her out there. She loves her, but feels she lost a little confidence this week.Heidi agrees with Mel a little bit. But still appreciates her authenticity. Simon thinks she needs to be raw and authentic. “I absolutely love you.” He feels she needs to be in the finale and “has a shot.”
She posted on her facebook page :
"Wow can not believe the final is tomorrow I have had an amazing time through out the competition been to some amazing places I never thought I would get the chance to see thank you so much for all the support you guys have given me really excited to get on that stage tomorow"

13-year-old singer – She was Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer. – Courtney has had more than 200 million views of her audition online.
Courtney says she’s “quite shy.” She is inspired by Janis Joplin, who was always herself. UNPOPULAR OPINION AHEAD. Her singing sounds like a lot of screeching and screaming to me.She lurches around the stage. And I just don’t get it. She’s singing “Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag” and her take is uhm interesting. I’ll say this again. It’s her age and demeanor off stage that sells this. If she were an adult with that act, Simon probably would have buzzed her. “I have not been this excited about a new artist in a long time,” says Heidi. “We get you,” says Mel B. Well that’s good. Because I don’t. Simon has NO advice for Courtney. Just keep doing what you’re doing he says.
Simon Cowell has been known for being forceful with his advice to hopefuls competing on America's Got Talent.
The 58-year-old judge was so stunned by 14-year-old singer Courtney Hadwin in the first live quarterfinals on Tuesday that he warned her to ignore everyone — even him.
'Normally, I give people advice on what to do next. This is my advice — don't listen to a single word I say,' insisted Simon, who made his name discovering and then shaping superstar acts

My first impression was that of Janis Joplin. You simply don’t hair vocals like that in this day in age, none the less coming from a 13-year-old.

Bj Gore For all you "nay" saying people on here, it is apparent you don't have a clue about people who are shy/quiet or what we may call introverted. I am one of those people. My skills and talents have taken me into a field where I have to be in front of many people, and perform, not musically, but from a speaker perspective. To be able to do my job I had to learn to perform which was nothing more than a "learned skill". I have "performed' before Senators and legislators, as principal speaker at state and national conferences and the list could go on. When my "performance" is over, I am totally exhausted because I have had to be extroverted. That is what you are seeing with this young lady. She has a phenomenal "learned skill" of performing, and she is only 14 YEARS OLD! How many of you can say you accomplished something like this when you were that age? love Courtney Hadwin AGT Finale
