Chevel Shepherd and Kirk Jay Duet Performance – The Voice Top 8

Chevel Shepherd and Kirk Jay Duet

The Voice season 15 Semi-Final performances air on Monday (Dec 10) with the results following on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 The Top 8 contestants will sing TWICE for your votes.

Three artists will automatically move on to the finale. The two artists with the fewest votes will be immediately eliminated and the middle three will contend for the remaining spot in the next finale via the Instant Save.

She’s Country/Country Must Be Country Wide – Kurt is going to bust out his dance moves, Chevel will teach him how to yodel. Well, both of these songs are beneath Kurt and Chevel. Chevel in particular. Both songs are pretty bad. It’s doing neither of them any favors at all. Both are outside of their comfort zones. For Kurt, it’s the tender ballad, and Chevel, old school storytelling. Blargh.

Chevel Shepherd – Chevel’s ability to channel old school country greats like Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette makes ya wonder if the 16 year old hasn’t time travelled back to the 70’s. She’s sweet and likable to boot. I’ll be very surprised if she doesn’t somehow make her way into the final four.

Kirk Jay – Team Blake –  Kirk’s calling card is the weepy country ballad. And boy, does he know what buttons to push when it comes to moving an audience.

He admits it! He loves to make people cry with vocals that can be emotional and gut wrenching. So far, the Voice audience can’t resist him. (Kirk could definitely win it all…)

Viewer react to Chevel Shepherd and Kirk Jay Duet

Malika Lester I’ll tell you what else has us deep in our feelings, a contestant being able to advance without performing while two gentlemen who did perform were sent home

Suzanne Seery Jantzen I wonder if she was really "under the weather" if I were sick the last place I would want to be is in an audience in my bathrobe… sorry, something is just not right…

Suzanne Guillot Durocher I didn’t like the way Adam handled the situation. Deandre didn’t get his fair due. When they announced regan couldn’t perform Adam should have spoken up then. Poor guy was in the bottom three and your coach knocks you down a notch. I loved his performance.
