American Idol 2018 Maddie Poppe

A 20-year-old Eastern Iowan singer-songwriter with a penchant for ukulele and The Muppets has moved on as one of this season’s American Idol final 14 contestants.

Maddie Poppe is from Clarksville, Iowa,  a town of around 1,400 located between Waterloo and Mason City. American Idol’s first look at her was a unique one, when she sang “Rainbow Connection”, the song made famous by Kermit the Frog on the Muppet Movie, accompanying herself on the guitar.

American Idol 2018 Maddie Poppe shared her love to her friend, Catie:

"Catie Turner is such an unbelievably special person to me. I am so blessed to have had her walk into my life. I can honestly say that she is without a doubt the most talented person I’ve ever had the privilege to meet. Catie is someone who from the beginning of this competition, I 100% thought would walk away with the title, and to be honest, should have. This girl has the world in the palm of her hand and will do such great things. I love this girl so unconditionally and I am so grateful to have found a FOREVER friend "

American Idol 2018 Maddie Poppe shared her love to Jurnee:

"Jurnee is the next Rihanna, I’m telling you. Also this girl will make you laugh like no other and is seriously such a light in any room she enters. A lot of times when I felt like no one was listening, she was always there to console me through my problems. This girl is so wise and mature beyond her years and there is so much success in store for her future. It’s crazy to think she’s only eighteen, because she’s accomplished so much so young, she’s got so much ahead of her. I very much enjoyed rooming with this lady and can’t wait to spend all summer with her on tour!! Jurnee is unlike anybody I’ve ever met, and I’m so happy we’ve gotten so close throughout this process. Love her so so much and can’t wait to see her career unfold and reach great heights"
