It is with a heavy heart that I must share Evolene's fifth kitten has crossed the Rainbow Bridge to join her four brothers and sisters.
Tiny Kittens – Through our tears, we have hope that this tragedy will highlight the importance of spaying and neutering, and inspire you to advocate for humane Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) efforts and spay/neuter programs in your own communities. The reality is that tragedies like these happen EVERY DAY in every neighborhood, but most of the time it happens invisibly. The ONLY way to prevent this unseen suffering is to spay and neuter.
Corsica and her five kittens are thriving, thank goodness. If you need some kitten therapy, you will find it watching them:
Please know we worked around the clock with the help of our vets at Mountain View Veterinary Hospital to give each of Evolene's kitten the best possible chance at survival. Although we will never know the exact cause, it seems likely that Evolene's poor health and malnutrition during most of her pregnancy resulted in developmental deficiencies that were impossible to survive.
Tiny Kittens Had they been born on the farm, we are certain they wouldn't have survived more than 24 hours, and Evolene may not have survived such a difficult labor. Evolene is going to the vet today for a full exam, and we have already begun new therapies to help her feel better as quickly as possible. We will schedule her spay and dental surgery as soon as she is healthy enough to undergo surgery. If you are interested in giving this sweet girl the Furry Tail Ending she deserves (once she's healthy), here's everything you need to know about the adoption process,
Please know how much your love, support and encouragement means to us, and how grateful we are for our TinyVillage during this difficult time
