Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa Was Going To Transfer After The National Championship Game

Freshman quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was the unlikeliest of hero’s Monday before coming in and leading the Alabama Crimson Tide to a National Championship.

The Hawaii native had only seen garbage-time snaps, 53 throws to be exact, all season behind starter Jalen Hurts, who struggled mightily in the first half against Georgia.

Turns out, head coach Nick Saban’s decision to insert Tagovalioa was one that could win Saban another title beyond this one, with the QB reportedly going to transfer to UCLA following the game. He was also willing to take the NCAA penalty of sitting a year to do so.

Tagovailoa was going to join head coach Chip Kelly in first first year with the Bruins, who was the former coach of QB Marcus Mariota at Oregon, a fellow alumni of Tua’s high school on the big island.

It now appears as if the only quarterback looking to transfer may be Hurts, who looks to be out of a job in Tuscaloosa.

Santos Cardona He was going to transfer to UCF. A real championship team

Kevin K.J. Jenkins ^ I am sorry, on my next comment, I will say something original along the lines of "don't let this distract you from the fact faclons blew a 28-3 lead" or "al bundy won a championship".

Max Winters I felt so bad for jalen hurts. Why would they interview him right after the game like that. It just was hard to watch
